Ugur specializes in shipping, transport, international trade and arbitration, corporate law, labour law. Beside his in depth understanding of intricacies of Turkish litigation system, he is also experienced in advising his clients in international arbitrations such as the London Maritime Arbitrators’ Association (LMAA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), The Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) and Federation of Oils, Seeds & Fats Associations (FOSFA). He frequently advises on contentious and non-contentious issues and represents his clients across a wide variety of disputes such as those arising from international sales contracts, carriage contracts, bills of lading, charter parties, insurance policies, cargo shortage claims, collisions, enforcement and recognition of foreign awards, liability disputes arising from environmental pollutions, inspection and audit services. In addition to these services, he has particular experience in drafting and negotiation of ship and boat sales contracts. Ugur is well known for his solution-focused approach which he successfully applies to complex legal disputes. Ugur speaks Turkish (Native) and English is the founding partner of Kanar & Partners law firm and admitted to Istanbul Bar.
